Rebuilding My Website with AI Agents: Why the New Site Was Born AI-first

Dennis Weidner steering the AI-first relaunch of his website with AI agents

My old website ran on WordPress for more than ten years. It served me well, but in 2026 it became clear that a classic relaunch – agency, requirements document, months of back and forth – is no longer the way to do this. So I set up the project the way I now set up almost everything: AI-first, with AI agents, steered by me.

What AI-first actually means for a website relaunch

AI-first does not mean an AI presses a button and you are done. It means AI agents take over the executing work while I steer direction, taste and quality: I brief, give feedback, decide and sign off. The agent researches, builds, tests and deploys – at a pace that classic project structures simply cannot match.

For the relaunch of dennis-weidner.com, that meant in concrete terms: the complete migration from WordPress to a lean, fast static website. All content, every blog article from more than ten years, the photo archive, the contact form, a self-built newsletter system with double opt-in. Plus the invisible but decisive things: clean redirects for all old URLs so no Google ranking gets lost, structured data for search engines, email deliverability with SPF and DKIM, load-time optimisation.

The details make the difference

One example that surprised even me: the original publication dates of my old blog articles were initially lost in the migration. The AI agent reconstructed them via the Internet Archive (Wayback Machine), article by article, including a check of whether any images had gone missing in the move. Nobody would have paid for that kind of meticulous work in the past – which is exactly why nobody would have done it.

Just as important: mistakes still happen, and they surface faster. Broken redirect chains, cached stylesheets, a regression bug after a URL change. The difference from a classic project is not the absence of errors but the speed at which they are detected, fixed and verified. Minutes instead of weeks.

Why I believe this is the future of entrepreneurial projects

With The Agentics I work exactly at this frontier: agentic engineering – AI agents doing real work in real systems, from web projects to our own product Slabhit. This website relaunch was the field test in our own house, and it confirmed the claim: online faster, better tech than ever before, full control over every line, at a fraction of the usual cost.

My recommendation to every founder and entrepreneur still running an outdated website in 2026: treat this not as an IT project but as a leadership task. Brief, steer, sign off – the agents handle the execution. Once you have worked this way, you never plan projects in months again.

This is exactly what I will be writing about here regularly: what works, what breaks, and what it means for your business. If you want to know what the AI-first approach could look like for your project: get in touch – or subscribe to the newsletter below and simply follow along.
