My path
I was born in Hamburg, I am a family man, and I have been an entrepreneur for more than two decades. It all started in front of a beige budget PC, and the rest is a long chain of attempts, mistakes and a few things that worked. I wrote about it in From a Budget PC to Autonomous Agents.
My time at Rocket Internet in Berlin shaped me early: pace, ambition, and the lesson that execution matters more than the perfect idea. Later, with CryptoTicker, I was one of the first in Germany to pull crypto out of its niche; today it is one of the leading German-language research and comparison platforms. With the C3 Crypto Conference we built one of Berlin's largest crypto conferences, and with Gründerfreunde I have been writing honestly about founder life for over ten years.
Today this comes together in Weidner Ventures (my holding), the agent-built venture builder The Agentics, and the live-commerce platform Slabhit.
What I believe
Heart and passion, first into the office and last to leave. Own your mistakes, be a team player, have others' backs. And stay curious, because asking questions does not make you small, it makes you better. On top of that, an attitude I grew up with in Hamburg: a word is a word, a handshake counts. Away from the engine room
The most important thing first: my family, who carry the entrepreneur's life with me. I was born in Hamburg and live in Berlin today, with a soft spot for the Hanseatic city that shaped me. When I am not building, you will most likely find me on the golf course in Berlin-Pankow or Bad Saarow, reading, or in conversations about politics and society. I do not take myself too seriously, and above all I simply enjoy the work.
